This #FridayFeature goes out to mountain bike extraordinaire, Anna Kelso (@alkelso)👇🏽 “I’ve been active my entire life and the older I get the more I realize that this was my way of medicating or soothing the constant drive in me. Most likely, I’ve been addressing undiagnosed ADHD for all these years. Either way, I have always needed to move my body. As a young girl it was dance and gymnastics, and in my early twenties I found cycling.  As an undergraduate at the University of Georgia, I found bike racing through collegiate sports and never looked back. I was driven to excel in cycling, but it certainly didn’t come easy. As with most things in my life, I have a lot more heart than actual talent. More than anything, I wanted to achieve a pro license before hanging up my helmet for good….  and that’s exactly what I did. After over 10 years of racing, I finally earned my pro license from USAC for CX mountain biking. The license arrived in the mail and I tucked it away in my mementos, never really expecting to use it. I was just happy to have finally achieved my goal. Chapter closed.  I then went on to start a family with the birth of my son in 2011 and then my daughter in 2014. A glutton for punishment, I loved every aspect of pregnancy and childbirth and the next 5 years would bear testament to that.  In 2018, as the last of my lactating days began to dwindle, I stumbled across the newly formed Sugar Beets Women's Cycling Team and was overwhelmed with gratitude for the amazing community of female cyclists I became a part of. The stars aligned and it was perfect timing for my place in life. I was trying to rediscover forgotten pieces of who I was, and the Sugar Beets were there to help pave the path.  Continued in the comments 👇🏽
