Craig 🙌🏼 if you haven’t noticed through my post that this big gentle giant is my favorite. I encountered him for the first time almost a decade ago. And to be honest with you I thought it was Tim. It was only two years later when Tim and Craig were together I realized I was wrong. Tim is wonderful but Craig has always been my favorite. In the last decade I’ve spent more time with him then any other elephant. Two years ago I spent two weeks straight with big Craig. Everyday for several hours. He’s inquisitive and comes to me almost every time I see him. He’s touched me, dusted me and tried to steal my camera. Always so gentle and truly a magical being. He’s one of the last big boys and a national treasure for Kenya and the world. Thanks to my friends at @biglifeafrica @amboseli_trust @sheldricktrust @elephantvoices @chantecaille @sylviechantecaille @elephantcooperation @wildaid Craig and Tim and many more roam free because of their support on the ground protecting these gentle giants. In the Amboseli ecosystem it’s not so much about poaching but human wildlife conflict. These organizations are working tirelessly to educate and find solutions with the communities in this on going battle of saving the elephants. This keystone species is the ecosystem’s engineers, gardeners and architects. Without them the ecosystem would change dramatically! It’s up to us if we want them to roam freely and Craig and Tim’s offspring to survive for us all to enjoy their magic for years to come. #savetheelephants #jointheherd #wildaid #worthmorealive #dswt #elephant #elephantlove #conservation #wildlife #wildlife_seekers #wildlifephotography #animal #animallover #nature #naturelovers #natureaddict #natgeo #nationalgeographic #safari #amboseli #kenya #africa #african_portraits #africanamazing #picoftheday #photooftheday #instagood #instanature #knotonmyplanet #markjdrury
w i l d ⊹ l i f e | first attempt of wildlife photography 📸 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ As an animal lover, I couldn’t not develop a great interest in wildlife photography! In Kenya last year I realized how difficult can be if you don’t have the right lens that can zoom a lot. I went in Kenya with my small second hand reflex and of course I couldn’t do any good picture during the safari BUT..... lucky me! There were these lovely giraffes that were more curious than me (and this is hard!)! They came so close that I was able to take my first wildlife photograph! Thank you giraffes 🦒🥳 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ But now I’m more prepared, I have a new camera, and a power zoom.... ready to use in my next adventure!! 📸 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Btw, how beautiful can be to see animals in their immense environment, wild and free? If you haven’t tried it yet, I really really recommend you to! 😍 (always sustainably!!) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ And you? Are you passionate about photography?
