Gone are the days of low fat, low carb, low this, and low that. It’s 2021 and I’m here to tell you, you can eat carbs and still lose weight. What we don’t realise when dieting is that all methods have one thing in common - a calorie deficit. You can enjoy all foods in MODERATION and still be in a calorie deficit. It’s important to understand certain foods do not make you fat - it’s the amount you consume that does. You can over-consume chocolate and gain weight, you can also over-consume sweet potato and gain weight. The key to losing weight is ADHERENCE. Because guess what, no matter how fancy and complex the diet may seem, if you can’t stick to it, it’s useless. ⬇️3 of my go-to’s when in a deficit! 1️⃣ Don't go too hard, too fast. Don’t set yourself up with an unrealistic aggressive deficit that you can’t adhere to. Start mild and work your way in. 2️⃣80% Wholefoods, 20% Soul foods. 80% of your diet should consist of foods that will make you FEEL good, give you energy and keep you satisfied, 20% should be treats you love and enjoy! Yes every day, not just once a week! 3️⃣Volume, Volume, Volume! Educate yourself around what’s in your food! Choose foods you know you can have more of for fewer calories!
