Everyone was so ready to forget 2020. It was a difficult year but I don't want to take it back of forget it. I got married in 2020. My first grandchild was born in 2020. So many people revealed their true selves in 2020. 2021 is only nine days old yet there's been so much that, yet again, fired a spotlight on who some folks are at their core. I'm slowly distancing myself from social media and it feels positive in my life. I hope y'all are staying safe and doing things that bring you joy and a sense of satisfaction, purpose, or even just contentment.
We had a very nice, quiet holiday. Making the safe (but still sad) choice to not gather with anyone, we spent the weekend with just the two of us. I taught Ed how to make my chili recipe (he did am amazing job). We went to a local lakefront park early Saturday morning so Ed could catch some sunrise photos (his capture the beauty of nature much better than mine do). We even spotted some deer on the drive home that allowed us to snap some pics. I hope you and yours had a safe and happy holiday, whatever you choose to celebrate.

Super easy and delicious dinner tonight from @realhomechef Cheddar Poblano Chicken with Parmesan Zucchini and Corn 🧀🫑🍗🌽 It's one of their oven ready meals that even comes with the pan to cook it in! I did adjust the recipe a bit by seasoning the chicken with a pinch of salt, pepper, and jerk season. #dinner #dinnertime

With little actual change to my own routine as a result of the pandemic, I've been doing ok. Until today. Burn out. Having to stay separated from family. Today, I'm sad.

It's been awhile since I posted a magical herb garden update. I was behind on pruning so there are lots of newly cut herb bunches decorating our space so they can dry. Then I took some time to clean up and rearrange some of my plant friends to give others a chance at better lighting for a turn. Swipe to see them all!
Y'all. Y'ALL! These candles are freakin amazing! Even just opening the box, I could tell I was about to experience olfactory bliss. The scents are perfect and plentiful. Bubba Jones here has *very* luxurious tastes and he clearly approves. I've had Pretty Kitty lit for only five minutes and the living room is full of the sweet aroma of sugary cotton candy and soft, lush roses.
