finally! made! seitan!! and i don’t know why i waited so long🤯 my life is changed omg😳 seitan was always something special i would get once in a while eating out, but i would never actually buy it cause it’s pretty $$$ but with this tiktok trend you know i had to give it a try and omg it’s SO easy. like you seriously don’t really need cooking skills to make this. and it’s quick!⚡️ there are probably a billion recipes out there (especially rn) but i adapted @nora_cooks_vegan_ & @foodwithfeeling recipes with some of my own additions✌🏻 leaving what i did below! run to the store and buy vital wheat gluten now!!! you’re missing out if you don’t try it😭 SEiTAN CHiCKEN (tiktok viral!!) ~ makes 2 ~ • 3/4 cups vital wheat gluten • 3 tbsp all purpose flour • 1 tbsp nutritional yeast • 2 tsp chicken seasoning • 1 cube veggie broth + 3/4 cup water (or 3/4 cup veggie broth with more seasoning) • 1 tbsp olive oil • 1 tsp liquid smoke mix dry ingredients. mix wet. knead for 1 minute, and form into a ball. cover and let sit for 20 minutes. knead for another minute and then divide the dough in half. twist each piece into a tight twist and then tie it into a knot. wrap in foil and steam 20 min. pan fry with oil / butter (or grill) until browned! 🍽: served mine with mixed greens, roasted potatoes & a maple mustard dressing: 1:1:1 dijon mustard, maple syrup + olive oil, splash of apple cider vinegar
vegan swirl milk bread > toast tuesday🍞 but seriously. this is the softest, fluffiest bread i have ever tasted🥺☁️ even if you’re too lazy to do the swirl, i beg you please to at least try this bread!!🙏🏻 i’m so in loveee💕 VEGAN SWiRL MiLK BREAD (v) adapted from @nourishedwithnatalie & @nm_meiyee • 1/3 cup all purpose flour + 1 cup water • 3 3/4 cup all purpose flour • 2 tbsp cane sugar • pinch of salt • 2 1/4 tsp @fleischmannsyeast quick rise instant yeast* • 4 tsp @fleischmannsyeast bread booster* • 3/4 cup warm unsweetened vanilla almond milk • 3 tbsp butter / vegan butter • 1 tbsp purple sweet potato powder (i used @akiorganic) method: 1. mix all purpose flour + water over medium heat until thick paste is formed 2. mix flour, sugar, salt, yeast and bread booster 3. combine warm almond milk + vegan butter 4. mix flour paste and almond milk mixture 5. slowly add in dry ingredients 6. knead until a smooth dough is formed. divide dough in half. 7. add purple sweet potato powder (or colouring of choice) to half the dough and mix in a mixer. knead another few mins until smooth. 8. roll into ball and let both rise for 15 mins 9. on a floured surface, roll both balls into rectangles (length of your loaf pan). place purple rectangle on top. 10. roll the wide side up into a cylinder shape. transfer into greased loaf pan 11. preheat oven to 350° 12. let dough rise for another 30 min on top of preheating oven 13. bake at 350° for 30 min 14. let cool and slice! * used @fleischmannsyeast new bread booster for a higher, fluffier loaf🥰 #sponsored #ad @makegoodcanada #makegoodcanada
