“I try to make big, bold statements in visual confusion and uncertainty, offset with colorful, sometimes friendly-looking forms,” says motion designer and 3D artist Ben Hughes (@rek0de).⁣ ⁣ Ben’s 3D renderings place oversized forms — including hearts, spheres and even giant creatures — into urban environments, reshaping reality in unexpected and surprising ways.⁣ ⁣ “The main theme in my work is around parallel realities and messing with juxtaposition, scale and physics. I’m fascinated by the quantum world. I’m equally fascinated by the character and stories contained in tower blocks and brutalist architecture. The two things together are such a fun contrast to work with.⁣ ⁣ I think I’m trying to create light from darkness. Ordinarily, when one thinks about parallel worlds or realities, it can quickly become dystopian, but I don’t think it needs to be that way.” 💜⁣ ⁣ #ThisWeekOnInstagram⁣ ⁣ Video by @rek0de
